Painting therapy for adults

In an individual setting or in a group

The actual act of "painting" in itself has a beneficial and healing effect. The creative work also offers you the possibility to learn more about yourself. Through painting therapy you can moreover deal with personal topics. We work with the methodology of  "person-oriented" painting therapy. In this approach the therapeutic work occurs around the picture being painted.

 

Person-oriented painting therapy can be supportive for the following topics:
 

  • Strengthening one's personal resources and qualities

  • Strengthening one’s self-confidence

  • Promotion of self-acceptance

  • Clarification of one's personal thoughts and feelings

  • Coping with crises

  • Coping with stress

  • Support of personal development processes

  • Increasing mindfulness

Through a creative process new perspectives are opened and a fresh attitude can be achieved. No themes are provided and nor are any motives; the pictures emerge individually directly from one’s inner self.

The paintings and their contents are not significant symbols and they are not judged, interpreted or explained. And nore is it about creating a piece of art; it's about clarifying feelings or unresolved issues that preoccupy you.


Painting therapy is a special discipline of of the Oda ARTECURA, which is the umbrella organization of the Swiss professional associations for art-media therapy.

 

Does it all sound difficult to grasp? Well it is, because what takes place doesn’t transpire through cognition and language but occurs directly through behavior and experience.

 

We are happy to give you more information and to accompany you on your personal process. We paint in small groups or on request in private sessions.

Book your painting session here, with or without a subscription. Either join a painting group and paint in company. If you prefer to work alone with the therapist, book in a one-on-one setting. Payment is made by invoice or via Twint.

More about painting therapy

We use the method of person-oriented painting therapy. The therapeutic work takes place directly through the painting. No themes or motifs are given. The paintings emerge independently from within you. We accompany and support you while you paint and in your process.

A picture is a picture. The works and their contents are neither symbols nor are they judged or interpreted by us.

When you paint, you come into contact with yourself and your behavior. Because the way you paint is the way you live. You get to know yourself better and have the opportunity to try out new things in a safe environment.
